About Me
Life has been pretty much a straight arrow as far as my schooling/career is concerned. I was born and brought up in Kolkata, India, and went to school from 1st till 12th grade at South Point (High) School, Kolkata. I received my Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science & Engineering from Jadavpur University, Kolkata (June '99). Following that, I joined Cadence Design Systems (I) Pvt. Ltd., Noida, and spent two years in C.R.Park, New Delhi (June '99 till July '01). My work was primarily in the Electronic Design Automation (EDA) domain, where I built chip design simulators at the logic gate level.
The second span started from August (Fall) '01, when I joined The State University of New York at Buffalo, Buffalo, NY, as a PhD Candidate in the Department of Computer Science & Engineering, under the guidance of Dr. Chunming Qiao. My research domain was in Mobile Wireless Networks, with special interest in mobility profiling for network users, location management techniques, and routing protocols. I defended my PhD Dissertation on 11th August 2006.
Following my graduation, I moved to the San Francisco Bay Area and re-started my professional career while continuing to study and play music on the side.
Being happy is simple... but being simple is the trick!
