Andy & I

I jam with Andy once in a while. Usually he is the one who sings and plays the guitar, and I either play the keyboard, or jam with my ukulele/flutes/harps.

The song "It's Probably Me" was dear to both of us, and so we decided to record it. This was my first attempt at making a home music video using Pinnacle's Ultimate Studio 11. It involved 2 cameras and shooting from multiple angles and then editing them all together. The audio part was recorded separately in multiple tracks using Steinberg's Nuendo 3.0 post production software. The rest of the recordings were casual jamming sessions and so the audio/video quality was not that great. We recorded directly from my digital camera without any post processing.

Gautam & I

Gautam is an incredibly talented song writer and music composer. We were housemates in Buffalo, NY during my final year of PhD. In that year I have seen him write both Bengali and Hindi songs almost one every couple of weeks. He would compose the tunes and I would sometimes help make the musical arrangements.

Except for "Moushumi" and "Tumi Dekhbe", the rest of them are songs that Gautam wrote and sang. I played the keyboards for all of them, and in "Deho jama khoshe pore" I even played a Baul instrument called Khamak. We recorded these initial demo tracks in a Studio in Buffalo.

Devika & I

I met Devika in my 2nd year in Grad school in Buffalo,NY. She is till date the most dedicated and passionate vocalist I have ever had the honor to play with. We recorded and performed at various school occassions.

The following recordings are of poor quality, done through a headset microphone alone, while Devika was singing and I was playing the keyboard. This was in those graduate school days when I could not afford much recoding equipment. But we made up for it by our never ending enthusiasm to record music.

In "Shopne dekhbo bole" Andy played the guitar, and in "Jaane jaan" Venky sang the male vocal parts.
