As darkness embraced me in powerful arms,
I was frightened beyond all known norms...
My senses eluded me in a mist of despair
I stumbled, I hurt, but had lost all care.
My soul screamed in a deafening silence,
Trying to focus on the midnight cadence
All I hoped for was a meager ray of light
To which my reality could cling on tight.
With time I knew this night would stay
I settled down to hear what it had to say.
It was then that I learnt of the simple way,
See through appearances in the light of day.
I could see all for what they really are
No more deceit from near and from far.
What dawned upon me then, was my true sight
All along, I was just blinded by the light.
